(Chicago, IL) — Now that Donald Trump is in the White House, former governor Rod Blagojevich is refocusing his efforts to have his prison sentence shortened. The clemency petition that Barack Obama chose not to act on now rolls over to President Trump, who was once briefly Blagojevich’s employer. In 2010, Blagojevich appeared on Trump’s TV show, “Celebrity Apprentice,” and Trump later said it appeared to him that Blagojevich’s corruption conviction was — quote — just a lot of political stuff, more than pure corruption. Blagojevich has served nearly five years of a 14-year sentence.
