Andrew “Andy” Marcolini 95 of Vandalia formally of Hillsboro passed away Sat. Jan 21, 2017 at Fayette County Hospital and Long term care center in Vandalia.
He was born on Sept 18, 1921 in Panama IL to Frank and Mary (Zani) Marcolini.
He was a coalminer for over 32 years at No. 10 Mine in Pawnee. He was a WWII US Marine Veteran and a member of the Four Mile Christian Church in Brownstown IL, United Mine workers 9819, VFW Post 4495, Taylorville American Legion Post 905 and the Hillsboro Moose Club. He loved to go to church and go dancing.
He married Katherine Oakley they later divorced. He married Geraldine McKinnie in 1994 and she preceded him in death in 2009.
He married Mabel “Lucy” Black in 2010 and she survives.
He is survived by one son Randall Marcolini wife Patty of Rochester and two Daughters Karen Brookfield husband Ron of San Diego CA and Beth Paris companion Jim Helton of Morrisonville, two step sons John Jackson wife Lisa of Vandalia and James Jackson of Ramsey, one “Adopted” daughter Julie Heise of Indianapolis IN, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchild, 5 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. One brother Kelly Marcolini wife Julie of Hillsboro and one sister Ginger Marcolini of Hillsboro
He was preceded in death by his parents’, wife Katherine, wife Geraldine, two Sisters Theadora “Tee” Novotny and Lena Noel and one special Aunt Elba Walden.
Funeral service will be Tuesday Jan 24th 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Wess Bell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 until service time.
Burial will be in McInturff cemetery in Hagarstown IL at a later date.
