(Norcia, Italy) — Central Italy is trembling from another huge earthquake. The six-point-six magnitude earthquake destroyed buildings in towns across the mountainous central region this morning. There are no immediate reports of casualties, but Italian news says three people were pulled from the rubble in the town of Ussita. Local authorities say many of the towns and villages struck by the quake were deserted, and still battered by the huge earthquake that shook the region in August.

(Washington, DC) — Attorney General Loretta Lynch is reportedly not happy with the FBI’s decision to review the case involving Hillary Clinton’s emails. Multiple sources say Lynch objected to FBI Director James Comey’s decision to tell Congress that newly discovered emails might be related to the investigation. One official familiar with the matter said Lynch was standing by a Justice Department policy that bars federal authorities from taking any action that may interfere with an election.
>>Police Dispute Reports Of Protestor Abuse
(Mandan, ND) — Tribal leaders in North Dakota say police are mistreating the protestors arrested at the Dakota Access Pipeline, with some protestors being kept in dog kennels. The Morton County Sheriff’s Department says chain-link fences have been installed at the Correctional Center and are being used for numerous arrests until protestors can be processed or sent elsewhere in the state. Police are disputing reports of excessive force used during last Thursday’s evacuation of the protest camp.

(Valdez, AK) — Alaska’s first retail marijuana store is open for business. Herbal Outfitters opened Saturday in Valdez. The “Alaska Dispatch News” says the store’s first customer, 63-year-old Michael Holcombe, said he’d been waiting 46 years for it to open. The store offers ten different strains of pot and Holcombe left with five of them. When he got outside, Holcombe shouted, “First bag!” and was cheered by waiting customers. Two other state-approved pot stores are planning to open next week in Fairbanks.
