(Carbondale, IL) — A downstate poll shows the state budget crisis isn’t having an impact on the lives of most Illinois voters. Around 62-percent of the people surveyed by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at SIU said the stalemate didn’t affect them. Most of the voters favored cuts as a way to fix the state’s budget woes.
