Corn and soybean harvest in Illinois is quickly moving along as we hear in the weekly crop report. Harvest progress has kept up at a steady pace says Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener.
80 percent of soybeans are dropping leaves and 16 percent of the crop has been harvested. That’s up from six percent last week. The condition of the soybean crop improved slightly to 80 percent in good to excellent condition. Average statewide topsoil moisture now stands at one percent very short, 2 percent short, 86 percent adequate and 11 percent surplus.
