The St. Elmo-Brownstown Lady Eagles finished 2-3 at the Mattoon Volleyball Tournament as they take 6th place. The Lady Eagles started pool play falling to Pana 21-25, 20-25 but rebounded with a 25-11, 25-17 win over Sullivan. In their final game of pool play, SEB fell to host Mattoon 5-25, 23-25 to finish 3rd in their pool and set up a crossover round matchup with fellow NTC team Neoga. In that match, SEB won the first set 25-14 before falling 19-25 in the second set. A third set victory, 15-8, would put SEB into the 5th place game. However, SEB would fall 19-25, 16-25 in that match to finish in 6th place.
The Lady Eagles will be back in action Tuesday as they be at Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City for a dual conference matchup.
