(Chicago, IL) — The group of business and government reform leaders behind the Independent Maps referendum want the state Supreme Court to take another look at the case. Coalition chairman Dennis FitzSimons says the court’s majority was wrong to rule that a petition drive can’t be used to bring such a constitutional question to the voters. He says if four justices agree, the case can be brought back before the court for another hearing, even though it would be too late to get the measure on the ballot in November.
