(Springfield, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner is busy signing several bills and issuing a significant veto. He took the action Friday. Rauner signed a bill allowing State Police troopers to carry so-called “epi-pens” to help people having severe allergic reactions. Rauner also approved a bill giving 17-year-olds the right to vote and another requiring students enrolled in driver’s education courses to learn how to respond when they’re pulled over by police. Rauner vetoed a bill adjusting residency requirements for students who want to run for a trustee position at the University of Illinois.
