(Chicago, IL) — Federal prosecutors say Rod Blagojevich should not have his federal corruption sentence shortened because he hasn’t apologized or accepted responsibility for abusing his office. That’s the gist of their written arguments sent to the court before next month’s resentencing hearing for the ex-governor. He could have his 14-year sentence cut because an appeals court has dropped five of the 18 corruption counts on which he was convicted. He could also get no reduction in his sentence after the hearing August 9th.
