(Springfield, IL) — Low-income college students will still have an opportunity to receive grant money from the state even without a budget in place. The Illinois Senate approved a bill yesterday that authorizes the state to spend 373-million-dollars for grants in the Monetary Award Program. The bill would affect up to 130-thousand students.
