Soybean planting is wrapping up as we hear in the weekly crop report. 96 percent of soybeans have now been planted and 88 percent emerged which is very close to normal progress says State Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener. One Percent of soybeans are blooming.
75 percent of the corn crop is rated in good to excellent condition and there are no reports of silking yet. Average statewide topsoil moisture declined and now stands at 4 percent very short, 26 percent short, 66 percent adequate and 4 percent surplus.
