(Springfield, IL) — Illinois is borrowing 550-million-dollars to help pay the bills during the budget crisis. Governor Rauner’s office says the state sold bonds to fund construction projects. Despite the budget impasse and Illinois‘ poor credit rating, the bonds were sold at an interest rate of three-point-seven-percent. That is slightly less than what Illinois got on a 480-million-dollar bond issue in January.
