Matt Adams and Brandon Moss went deep for the Redbirds, who saw their five-game winning streak come to an end. Jaime Garcia gave up four runs, three earned, in six-and-a-third frames as he fell to 4-and-6.

(Washington, DC) — Albert Almora Junior’s RBI double in the top of the ninth pushed the Cubs to a 4-3 win over the Nationals. Jason Heyward smacked a two-run single for Chicago, which improved to 44-and-19. Hector Rondon blew the lead in the eighth but worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his first win. The teams wrap up the three-game series this afternoon.
