(Springfield, IL) — There was another call for a budget solution today, this one from a group of business owners connected with the road building industry. At a Springfield news conference, the Transportation for Illinois Coalition called on the General Assembly and Governor Rauner to agree at least on a temporary budget to ensure that schools open and government keeps operating. Specifically, the group wants lawmakers to authorize the spending of money, most of it federal, in the one-point-eight-billion-dollar road construction plan for the year beginning next month.
