(Cincinnati, OH) — Joey Votto hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Reds a 7-6 win over the Cardinals at Great American Ball Park. Cincinnati had blown a 6-1 lead, giving up three runs in the eighth and two in the top of the ninth in the opener of the three-game series. Kevin Siegrist took the loss after giving up Votto’s homer. Matt Carpenter tied the game with a two-run double.

(Secaucus, NJ) — The Cardinals are gearing up for the MLB First-Year Player Draft. It runs Thursday through Saturday, with 40 rounds total. The Cards have the 23rd overall pick in the first round. They also get the 33rd and 34th picks as compensation as losing free agents John Lackey and Jason Heyward.

(Philadelphia, PA) — The Cubs suffered a 3-2 loss to the Phillies last night in Philadelphia. Kyle Hendricks struck out six, but allowed two runs in five innings to fall to 4-and-5. Dexter Fowler plated a run for Chicago, which dropped to 40-and-17. The teams close out their three-game series this afternoon.
