(Springfield, IL) — A bill to legalize and regulate fantasy online sports leagues cleared its first hurdle today with passage by an Illinois House committee. The bill would give the Illinois Gaming Board jurisdiction over sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, while the operators would be required to pay licensing fees on their revenue and could face fines for violating the law. The bill would forbid company employees or anyone under 21 from participating in the games.
