Heavy rains look to be on the way to the area, bringing up to 4 inches of rain into Fayette County thru this week. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says that a prolonged period of heavy rainfall is possible for part of the area this week. The latest weather information is showing two waves of heavy rain—the first is expected Tuesday evening and night and the second wave is expect Wednesday and Wednesday evening and could even last into Thursday for parts of the region. The latest maps are showing anywhere from 2.5 to 4 inches of rain for Fayette County between now and Friday. Rain is in the forecast all week long with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s and lows just in the 50s.
