(Chicago, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner’s gift cards are raising question. The governor’s campaign used prepaid gift cards to get money into the hands of his get-out-the-vote volunteers, but just who got them and how much each person got isn’t clear. Rauner’s most recent campaign report lists for the first time getting back nearly 55-thousand-dollars in unused Visa gift cards, but the report doesn’t detail how many cards were handed out. The cards were in denominations of 25- 50- and 75-dollars, but it’s not clear whether anyone received more than one card. If anyone got cards totaling more than one-hundred-50-dollars, that should have been listed on the campaign finance reports.
