(Chicago, IL) — Having cameras in county courtrooms in Illinois is no longer just a pilot program. The Illinois Supreme Court today decided that the three-year experiment has been successful so it’s now their permanent policy to allow cameras in the courts. So far, 15 of the state’s 24 judicial circuits have been approved for courtroom cameras and now there’s a standard form for the remaining districts to submit if they also want to have cameras.
