(Chicago, IL) — A presidential candidate’s eligibility case is making its way to a Chicago courtroom. A downstate man was in a Cook County courtroom today to argue for his lawsuit challenging the eligibility of Ted Cruz to run for President. Lawrence Joyce, pharmacist from Poplar Grove, wants to present the case that Cruz is not a natural-born citizen as the Constitution requires, but his effort faces an uphill fight. Attorneys for the Cruz campaign, the state Election Board and the Attorney General’s office raised legal and procedural objections to Joyce’s lawsuit, and all sides will be back in court March 1.
