Alan McConkey, 71, of Brownstown, died at 9:35 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2026 at his home.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2026 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown with Tim Fontaine officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Sportman’s Club or KVS Club.
Alan M. McConkey was born on Wednesday, November 17, 1954 in St. Elmo to Paul Leon and Lola Rene (Beck) McConkey. He was a retired factory worker. Alan was an outdoors man, and he lived year-round in a cabin in the woods. He was looking forward to winter, as he loved to ice fish. Alan also loved spending time at The St Peter Sportsman Club, whether it was shooting, keeping score, or talking to people.
He is survived by; his brother, Paul (Doris) McConkey, Brownstown; sister, Janet (Lowell) Hunsaker, St. Elmo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; brothers, Miles McConkey and Jay McConkey; and sisters, Linda Koehler and Diana Jones.
