(Decatur, IL) — Michael Wallace is headed to prison for the 2011 murder of Caleb Witty in Decatur. Wallace pleaded guilty to first-degree murder as part of a plea deal yesterday. Witty was shot and killed in August of 2011 on the city’s east side while he was protecting his younger sister during a robbery. As part of his agreement, Wallace’s sentence is to be capped at 40 years.
