(Springfield, IL) — The state Department of Natural Resources is pausing public meetings in northern and west-central Illinois. The pause, according to the department, is to prepare to discuss changes to Illinois’ chronic wasting disease program. Specifically, the IDNR says it will be hosting public discussions surrounding the program’s goals, objectives and future disease surveillance strategies. Public meetings will resume in a year, in fall of 2027.
