The Sidewalk upgrade project on Sunset Drive in Vandalia is set to get underway on Monday. And, with that, there will be some closings in two phases of through traffic.
Residents of Sunset Drive received this information earlier, as the project is set to begin (weather pending) on Monday, October 19th. In a letter from the City of Vandalia and McCarthy Improvement it states that “For your safety and convenience, we will be closing this portion of the project to through traffic in two phases so you can park safely along the roadway and stay in a close proximity to your homes.” The letter states the barricades will be staggered so you can come and go as you please and they will provide access to school buses, mail service, trash service, deliveries and others.
The letter also says that “Once we begin, we would ask that you please park along the east shoulder of the road and avoid work areas as much as possible for your safety.”
