A Union City, Tennessee man is facing 3 felony counts in Fayette County Court.
50 year old Lane Noyes is facing two counts of Aggravated Battery, which are both Class 3 Felonies. In Count 1, it states that Noyes–knowing the alleged victim to be 60 years of age or older, committed a batter when he’s alleged to have struck the individual in the face, grabbed the individual by the hair and slammed their head in the hood of a jeep. Count 2 includes much the same information as Count 1. Noyes is also charged with Domestic Battery, which is a Class 4 Felony. Information on the charge says that Noyes is alleged to have made physical contact with the individual–who it states is a family or household member of the defendant. It states that Noyes is alleged to have struck the individual in the face, grabbed them by the hair and slammed their head in the hood of a jeep. The count also adds that Noyes has a prior conviction for Domestic Battery in Sonoma County, California.
Noyes appeared in Fayette County Court on Wednesday. The petition by the state to detain Noyes in the Fayette County Jail was granted, so he will remain in custody at the Fayette County Jail. Information from the court appearance stated that Noyes is believed to be a specific threat to the alleged victim and that he also has a significant criminal history. Noyes will next appear in Fayette County Court on October 14th for a Preliminary Hearing and First Appearance with Counsel.
