(Lincoln, IL) — State leaders are divided on the closure of Logan Correctional Center. Governor JB Pritzker says he remains committed to economic development in Lincoln after the facility moves to Crest Hill. Logan will stay open and operational during the construction of the suburban facility in Crest Hill. Detractors like Senator Sally Turner, of Lincoln, say closing Logan is bad for the staff, residents, and the local economy. Part of the reason for the move, Pritzker says, is so that families with prisoners in the facility will be closer to their relatives.
