Bruce Meyer, 68, of Mason, died at 2:50 p.m., Monday, September 7, 2026 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, surrounded by loved ones.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bruce W. Meyer was born on Thursday, December 26, 1957 in Louisville, KY to Charles and Shirley (Moore) Meyer. He married Nancy Finfrock on December 31, 1982 and worked many years at Color Press, Donnelley’s, and Kingery Printing before retiring.
In addition to his wife of over 43 years, he is survived by; his mother, Shirley of Altamont; sons, Shayne (Heather) Meyer of Altamont and Jesse (Alexandra) Meyer of Altamont; daughters, Amanda (Tim) Worker of Ramsey, Heidi (John) Stuemke of Altamont and Brandy Christian of Ramsey; brothers, Charles Meyer of Effingham and Jimmy (Janet) Meyer of Watson; sisters, Debbie Harper of Effingham, Mary Ann (Ray) Winnett of Mattoon and Doris (Lee) Koester, Anderson, SC; 22 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and two great grandchild on the way.
Bruce leaves behind a legacy of 22 grandchildren; Sierah (Austyn), Miley, Tiler, Haileigh (Nate), Katy (Kade), Wyatt, Dylan, Dustyn, Brooke (Ben), Kelli, Tristan (Reagan), Jakob, Waylan, Bailey (Chandler), Easton, Landon, Lincoln, Leo, Marissa, Zach, Jaxon and Kali. He also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren; Draven, Scarlett, Blythe, Maverick, with 2 new greats on the way. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and several people he loved as family. In addition, Bruce leaves behind his beloved canine companions Hank, Lucy, and Archie.
He was preceded in death by; his father; Charles Meyer Sr., brother, Dennis Meyer; sister, Cynthia Meyer; son-in-law, Hans Christian; brother-in-law, David Harper.
