The Illinois Office of the Auditor General has released its follow-up performance audit of the Department of Children and Family Services.
The report said children in DCFS care were not receiving required health screenings.
State Rep. Jed Davis noted that DCFS was unable to provide 82% of the required home safety checklists within a sample of 50 cases.
Davis said the auditor general’s office refused to share reports it received from DCFS.
The audit recommended that DCFS take steps to make sure its operations divisions are adequately staffed.
