The extreme heat remains with us today and tomorrow.
Our forecast for today calls for sunny skies with a high of 98 with heat index values as high as 105. Then, mostly clear skies for tonight with a low of 74. Tomorrow will be much the same with a high of 97 and heat index values as high as 104—but we do have a chance of a shower or thunderstorm late in the afternoon on Saturday.
Sunday and Labor Day we will get a slight break from the heat—but not much of one. Sunday will be sunny with a high of 91 and Labor Day will be sunny with a high of 89. Then, we return to some extreme heat for at least a few more days. Tuesday of next week we are expected to be in the mid-90’s and then back near 100 for a high on Wednesday. Longer range forecasts do show us getting a bit of a break in about a week or so.
Sunrise today is at 6:28 am and sunset will be at 7:22 pm.
