The City of Vandalia has announced their annual street oiling schedule and will get started on Tuesday, September 8th.
City Administrator LaTisha Paslay says that beginning on September 8th and running until September 15th, the City of Vandalia’s Street Department will begin oiling various streets throughout the community. Paslay says they urge everyone to please be aware of their surroundings and to obey traffic control devices during the work. She also adds that those caught going around or through devices are subject to having their license plate number reported to the Police and can still be ticketed.
Signage is already up on the streets that will be oiled and she also notes the City of Vandalia will be using a different type of rock this year than it did last year. And, in the event of weather slowing up the oiling progress next week, the project would be extended an additional few days or future dates to complete the project.
