Individuals are starting to pick up their packets to run for Vandalia City Council in the April 6th, 2027 election.
Tuesday began the period of time that individuals could begin circulating petitions. And, then the actual filing period will be from November 16th through 23rd.
City of Vandalia Clerk Carla Huhn reports that both Shane Bowen and Lester Taylor have picked up a petition to potentially run for Ward 1 Alderman. Current Ward 1 Alderman Ken Hubler earlier announced he will not seek another term.
In Ward 2, Russ Stunkel has picked up a packet to potentially run for re-election.
In Ward 3, Zachary Cole has picked up a packet to potentially run for the seat. The seat is currently held by Ward 3 Alderman Bob Bowen.
In Ward 4, no one has yet picked up a petition. The seat is currently held by Ward 4 Alderman Bret Brosman.
