The Vandalia School District is searching for bus drivers to round out their staff after having to make adjustments to their transportation for the new school year. Prior to the start of the year, the school district had to eliminated a couple routes and adjust routes and pickup/dropoff times. During Thursday night’s Vandalia School Board meeting, Superintendent Jennifer Garrison informed the board that things have been going well and they are very thankful for their current bus drivers and transportation staff, but with two retired drivers filling in as substitute drivers, they are still currently looking for at least two drivers and says they have made adjustments to what is offered for the position after getting feedback directly from their retiring drivers.
And Garrison says they are also prepared to help qualified applicants get their needed CDL and permits.
