
Showers and thunderstorms will continue moving through the area today and tonight.
Our forecast calls for Showers and thunderstorms to be with us this morning–likely tapering off in the afternoon–with a high today of 79. Then, scattered showers and storms for tonight with a low of 66.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says there is a threat of heavy rains and strong to severe storms. The NWS says multiple rounds of showers and storms are expected today. Heavy rain is the most likely hazard with storms this morning, with isolated instances of flooding possible. This afternoon and evening, additional rounds of storms are likely (40-60%), and while confidence is low that storms will be severe, a few damaging wind gusts in the strongest ones. Afternoon storms are most likely in northern areas, with evening storms more likely further south.
According to the current maps, however, the heaviest rains should stay off to our southwest and the biggest potential for any severe storms should be off to our south.
