After several months of work, the City of Vandalia now has a coordinated plan of progress and improvement for the immediate future in hand and is ready to begin checking things off the list. During Monday night’s Vandalia City Council meeting, Jim Arndt of Arndt Municipal Support, Inc. was on hand and presented the council members in attendance and the city’s leadership with the Strategic Plan for 2026-2030. Arndt briefly outlined the process beginning in March with the stakeholders strategic planning sessions before moving to the department heads planning session and then the City Council’s two planning sessions in April and June. From those meetings, Arndt says everyone worked together to identify priorities and laid out what needed to be done to address those priorities.
And then Arndt says they need to link their next steps and projects back to the plan as they essentially check things off the list.
The city’s Strategic Plan will be published and bound and the city will have copies available for the public to view.
