An organization looking to spur growth and development in the region has been reborn in a sense and was on hand Tuesday night at the monthly board meeting to give an update to the Fayette County Board about their recent work and their mission going forward. County Board Vice-Chairman Pat Click introduced and explained that the Vandalia Civic Advancement Association (VCAA) has begun work again and despite it being Vandalia in the name, they will be working for the whole county.
VCA Board member and Family YMCA of Fayette County CEO Ben Frazier explained further that they held a kickoff meeting in February and also put out a survey and had great participation with both as they have begun their work again. And Frazier says one big thing VCAA has done already is to compile data on the county, municipalities and such that was not previously easily found or readily available that can be used in many ways.
Also on hand was Vandalia Mayor and VCAA Board member Doug Knebel was also on hand and spoke about how stakeholders from the county and area are now working together at the same table.
