(Chicago, IL) — Illinois is suing the Trump administration for demanding access to state databases containing personal information on millions of CDL drivers. State Attorney General Kwame Raoul led a coalition of 21 attorneys general and the state of Pennsylvania in filing two lawsuits against the feds. The suit claims the Trump administration has threatened to terminate more than ten-million-dollars in federal funding to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators if it refuses to produce the database. The database was created in the 80s to help states determine driver eligibility for CDLs across state lines.
