(Nokomis, IL) — Authorities are investigating after police responded to a report of a possible explosive device in an abandoned home in Montgomery County. Officers were called out Tuesday night to the home near Shane Cole Park in Nokomis. The Secretary of State Police Bomb Squad and FBI searched the interior of the property. Items resembling a “pipe bomb” were removed from the home and deemed to be non-explosive. No explosive devices were located on the property.
