Misty L. Barnes, 53, of Witt, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 06, 2026 at her residence.
Per Misty’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00PM, Friday, August 14, 2026 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia. Misty Lynn Householder was born on September 27, 1972, in Granite City, Illinois, one of six children born to Nathan G. Householder Sr. and Linda Darlene (Daubach) Davis.
Above all else, Misty was a devoted and loving mother. She dedicated much of her life to raising her four children, with a special devotion to caring for her disabled son. Strong-willed and outspoken, Misty found her greatest happiness at home, where she enjoyed cooking, watching movies, and spending quality time with her family.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment she shared with them. Misty will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family, and as a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt whose presence will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son, Ethen Householder and wife Nicole of St. Louis, MO; son, Dillon Householder of Witt; son, Cody Barnes of St. Louis; daughter, Nina Barnes of Witt; brother, Nathan Householder and wife Bethany; sisters, Christy Householder and husband Carlos, Brandy Householder, Loretta Householder, and Heather Householder; grandchildren, Raelynn Householder, Stella Householder, Elijah Householder, Kayden Stallings, and Everleigh Lovett; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
