(Cook Co., IL) — Former longtime Cook County Chief Judge Tim Evans is beginning a new job. Evans has been appointed to serve as a justice for the First District Appellate Court. The 83-year-old replaces Justice Terrence Lavin, who retired in March. Evans led the Cook County judiciary for 24 years before losing an election to current Chief Judge Charles Beach last year.
