Some steps forward should happen in the next few weeks for a potential new Truck Stop in Vandalia

The project to bring a Racetrac Travel Center to the former Wal-Mart property in Vandalia will get some forwards steps in the next few weeks.

During Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting, City Administrator LaTisha Paslay talked about some upcoming meetings later this month to move forward with the proposed truck stop.

Speaking on our “Talking About Vandalia” podcast this week, Mayor Doug Knebel gave some further action that will likely happen next month.

Racetrac Travel Centers are located in areas all over the country, but not yet in Illinois.  It is believed the Vandalia location would be their first Travel Center in the state, with more said to be planned after that.
