Although there’s still one election to be completed before it gets here, candidates may start circulating petitions for the April 6th, 2027 Consolidated Election next month.
During Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting, City Clerk Carla Huhn informed the council the time to start circulating petitions for the April election will be on August 25th. And, then the filing period will be from November 16th through 23rd.
As for the City of Vandalia, there are 4 seats for Alderman that will be up for election—one in each ward. Ward one (the seat currently held by Ken Hubler), Ward 2 (seat currently held by Russ Stunkel), Ward 3 (seat currently held by Bob Bowen) and Ward 4 (seat currently held by Bret Brosman).
There’s still the November General Election this year to get completed before the April race would be next up.
