Showers & Thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight—Severe Storms are Possible

We are looking at showers and thunderstorms for today and tonight and severe storms are possible over the area.

Today’s forecast calls for showers and storms likely late this afternoon with otherwise mostly sunny skies today with a high of 90.  Then, a chance of showers and storms tonight–with the possibility of heavy rainfall–with a low of 71.

In their latest weather briefing, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says thunderstorms are expected to develop over the area this afternoon and evening, mostly likely between 2 pm and 10 pm.  Some of the storms may be severe, capable of producing damaging winds, large hail and a brief tornado.  In addition to severe weather, locally heavy rainfall will be possible with some of these storms.
