Meanwhile, bigger chances of showers and thunderstorms come back into the forecast on Thursday and also a return chance of severe storms. In their latest weather briefing, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says thunderstorms are expected to develop over the area on Thursday afternoon and evening, most likely between 2 pm and 10 pm. A few of the storms may be severe, capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Thunderstorms are expected again on Friday and Friday night, with isolated severe storms possible during the afternoon and evening. The NWS says locally heavy rainfall will be possible with some of these storms.
