(Ottawa, IL) — Illinois State police are investigating a deadly officer involved shooting on July 4th in Ottawa. Authorities say on Saturday, LaSalle County deputies attempted to stop the vehicle known to belong to a person with an active arrest warrant, but the driver fled. The driver pulled into his driveway in the 22-hundred block of East 13th Road in Ottawa. The driver, Jacob Williamson, got out of the vehicle with a firearm and fired at the deputies. The deputies returned fire, hitting Williamson, who was pronounced dead on scene.
