
We have more heat and humidity with us for today–although it is a little less oppressive that we have been the past several days.
We do have a chance of showers and storms this afternoon, but we’ll otherwise see mostly sunny skies for today with a high of 91 and heat index value as high as 101. Then, a chance of showers and storms for tonight with a low of 70.
Meanwhile, there is a chance of an isolated severe storm this afternoon and tonight. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says in their latest weather briefing that isolated severe thunderstorms are possible today, with the best time for any severe storms to be between 12 pm and 8 pm today. The primary threat would be damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour and large hail, frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall is also possible with these thunderstorms. The entire area is under a “marginal” risk for severe storms.
