The heat and humidity remains with us today.
We do have a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, but we’ll otherwise see sunny skies today with a high of 93 and heat index values as high as 105. Then, a chance of showers and storms for tonight with a low of 73.
Meanwhile, some areas could see isolated severe storms today and tomorrow. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and early evening hours both today and on Saturday. Damaging wind gusts to 60 mph is the the primary threat so move inside if threatening weather approaches your location. As of this time, our area is in the “marginal” category for any severe storms.
