Kaskaskia College President George Evans was on hand on Monday for the 2026 Community Engagement Meeting held at the Vandalia Campus. President Evans started with a presentation breaking down the 2025-26 school year, a year he says he is very proud of.
One topic that was discussed heavily during the presentation was KC Now, a program that provides eligible high school students the opportunity to take college courses during their regular school day, and President Evans is excited by how much it has grown over the past 5 years.
At the conclusion of the presentation, President Evans announced a partnership with Southern Illinois University Carbondale, a partnership that will allow students to earn a bachelor’s degree while remaining at KC. President Evans said that this partnership is something that gives him a lot of pride.
The Partnership between KC and SIU-C comes into effect in the Fall of 2026.
