Meanwhile, the threat of heavy rains comes into our forecast on Thursday night and into Friday. In their latest weather briefing, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says heavy rain is forecast in the region late Thursday through Friday. A narrow band of up to 3 to 4 inches of rain may develop along or in the vicinity of the I-70 corridor. As of this time, part of Fayette County would be on the eastern edge of that heavy band of rain. But, the NWS does says the heavy rain axis is uncertain and likely to shift.
