Our forecast for today says we have a chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high of 83. Then, a chance of showers and storms tonight with a low of 66.
In their latest weather briefing, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says at least isolated thunderstorms are expected during the day today, with a low severe threat. The greater severe threat comes with thunderstorms forming along a cold front later in the day. These will move through late tonight and early Sunday morning for our area. Damaging winds are the primary threat, though an isolated tornado is also possible. The NWS says the thunderstorms may also produced locally heavy rainfall and isolated flash flooding, particularly in locations that receive multiple rounds of thunderstorms. As for timing of the storms, the latest map shows storms arriving in our area between 11 pm tonight and 2 am Sunday morning.
