Multiple topics were discussed during Wednesday’s monthly Saint Elmo City Council Meeting. One major topic of discussion was the approval of a TIF transfer of Dustin Rhodes, owner of Axe on Main and Forge a Memory, to his daughter, Elizabeth Rhodes. When discussing the transfer of the businesses, Saint Elmo Mayor Kim Baron said that she loves the idea of younger individuals wanting to help grow the community.
Other items that the Council approved were a contract renewal for Paul Cox as the water and sewer operator for one year at $500 a month, and Sodium Blasting from H&R Sandblasting out of Shattuc, IL, up to $2000.
